Lyle & Scott launches a Facebook store….

Fashion retailer Lyle & Scott are set to launch a Facebook store.

The news follows Lyle & Scott’s recent re-launch of its web site which is optimised for mobile use.

The general idea could be called “social shopping”, much like shopping with your friends, but online.

Laura Summers, BT Fresca’s online marketing manager, said: “Transactional social media has huge potential for retailers – both for revenue and brand building.”

Further to this she added: “Today’s consumers spend more time on Facebook than on retail web sites, so it’s important for retailers to have a consistent brand image across all channels.”
